Akron, Ohio, Feb. 29, 2024  — Akron Mayor Shammas Malik will deliver his first State of the City Address in the evening on Wednesday, April 10, 2024. The date is the 100th day in office for Mayor Malik and also marks the Mayor’s 33rd birthday. This year’s address, hosted by the Akron Roundtable, will take place at the Akron Civic Theatre (182 S. Main St.) in downtown Akron. Doors will open at 5pm and the event will kick off at 6pm. Following the address, there will be a Q&A with the event concluding by 8pm. Mayor Malik invites Akron residents to attend the event for free by registering on the Akron Roundtable site here.

“I plan to give a progress update on my team’s 100-day plan, highlight some successes, and focus on what’s next for the City of Akron,” said Mayor Malik. “This event is really about the people of Akron and it’s important to me that our residents have the opportunity to attend at no cost to them. This will be an evening of community and fellowship and I invite everyone to attend including residents, businesses, non-profits, community partners, and beyond.”
