Tiny Tot Basketball Program

The City of Akron Tiny Tot Basketball program provides the opportunity for young athletes, ages 5 - 7, at the recreational level to improve their basketball knowledge and skill set while working side by side with experienced City of Akron staff. The themes we stress are teamwork, creating a safe learning environment for all participants, accountability, and sportsmanship.

Our clinic and league objectives are:
  • to improve basic game skills
  • shooting
  • dribbling
  • rebounding and passing
  • to improve offensive and defensive positional play
  • to improve overall fitness
  • to learn basic strategies and rules of basketball
  • to learn more about basketball while enjoying the game.
The ultimate goal of this program is to improve the level of play of each participant and provide him or her with a rewarding and fun experience while learning the fundamentals of basketball and making new friends.

We offer Tiny Tots at:
  • Ed Davis Community Center
  • Joy Park Community Center
  • Lawton Street Community Center
