Akron Neighborhood Business Areas
The Department of Planning and Urban Development offers these marketing tools to assist Akron’s neighborhood business areas in attracting investment and customers. Each area is described by a map with business-related zoning, major transportation and landmarks, along with market demographics, descriptions of business types, building types, and neighborhood features.
Akron’s small business owners in our neighborhood business areas provide essential goods and services, create jobs, strengthen housing markets, and attract and retain a stable resident base.
The City looks forward to the further development of our local economy, aided by the opportunity for small business investment and the understanding of the role business districts play in the vitality of our neighborhoods.
