The purpose of the LGBT Liaison is to strengthen the relationship between the LGBT community and both the Administration and Police Department. By establishing an ongoing dialogue, the Liaison hears directly from community members about concerns, works collaboratively with the community to advance and advocate for policies which affect the LGBT community and to eliminate bigotry, discrimination and prejudice on the basis of sexual orientation and gender identity and expression. They will also work to identify solutions and educate about recommended safety measures and available resources.
