Inspection Procedure
The City of Akron requires that all property owners or owner’s contractor that are connecting or tapping into the main line sanitary or storm sewer located within the right-of-way or easement have an inspector on site during the installation process.
The owner or the owners’ Contractor is required to purchase a right-of-way or easement permit. The permit can be purchased at the Akron Plans and Permits Office located within the County of Summit Division of Building Standards:

After the purchase of the right-of-way or easement permit, the owner or owners’ Contractor must notify the inspector from the Sewer Maintenance division 24 hour prior to excavation at (330) 375-2666 to schedule the inspection.
