- Answer questions from the public concerning employment opportunities
- Design and develop City and Akron Public Schools’ examinations for seasonal, temporary and permanent positions
- Determine essential functions for City positions to comply with the ADA
- Conduct recruitment through the internet, employment information line, job fairs, publications, and social media
- Distribute and post job announcements
- Schedule and administer City and Akron Public Schools’ examinations for seasonal, temporary and permanent positions
- Screen applications and prepare admission notices
- Prepare examination summary statistics, eligible lists and grade notices
- Oversee candidate review of examination papers and prepare Civil Service Commission materials
Certifications and Processing:
- Certify and maintain eligible lists
- Process new employees
