City of Akron Hosts Press Conference to Discuss Grand Jury Decision

Akron, Ohio, April 17, 2023 — Akron Mayor Dan Horrigan and Akron Police Chief Steve Mylett hosted a press conference to discuss today’s announcement from Ohio Attorney General Dave Yost. AG Yost announced that the special grand jury which was recently seated to hear evidence in the officer involved shooting of Jayland Walker has returned a no bill, meaning that none of the 8 officers involved have been criminally charged.
