
City of Akron PeaceMakers Hosts "You and the Law" Workshops

Akron, Ohio, March 24, 2016– The City of Akron PeaceMakers and the Akron Police Department are offering free “You and the Law” workshops at various locations throughout Akron and surrounding communities. Teen and adult residents are encouraged to attend. No cost or registration is required.
The 90-minute sessions are facilitated by an Akron police officer and assisted by members of the Akron Peacemakers. Workshops offer practical demonstrations and guidelines on positive interactions with law enforcement officers.

The PeaceMakers is an anti-crime/youth civic program designed to facilitate Akron’s youth about their government, community organizations and police. Participants will learn about Akron’s history, tour City facilities and get a behind-the scenes look at how city government works. The PeaceMakers also affords the opportunity to meet City officials and department heads one-on-one. The program is sponsored by the Mayor’s Office of Community Relations.
