Akron, Ohio, Nov. 9, 2020 — All municipal offices will be closed on Wednesday, November 11, 2020 in observance of Veterans Day. There will be no delay in curb service and trash/recycle collections will continue as usual for the week of November 9th. To get reminders and alerts about your household’s curb service schedule, please download the Akron Recycles app free on Android or Apple devices.
"America's veterans bravely answered the call to serve our great country so that we may live in peace and freedom," said Akron Mayor Dan Horrigan. "On Veterans Day, we pause to honor their service and their sacrifice. Thank you to all of our veterans—from all branches of the military—past, present, and future, as well as their families. As we pay tribute to these heroic men and women, let us also renew our commitment to ensure that every veteran has access to the housing, services, and resources they need to navigate civilian life in our community, 365 days a year."
As a reminder, physical access to municipal buildings remains very limited during the City’s response to COVID-19, and will remain limited until further notice. City offices and services are still accessible via the phone, website, and email, but will be closed for business on Wednesday, November 11th.
