New Akron-Centric Book on Sale

          (December 16, 2013)  A new book produced for the City of Akron and the Greater Akron Chamber about Akron’s renaissance and how the city achieved international success over the last 30 years, is on sale locally through the Summit County Historical Society.

          Inventive.Industrious.Inspired was authored by Dave Lieberth, a former Deputy Mayor, lawyer, journalist and historian who also serves as vice-chair of the Summit County Historical Society.

          All proceeds from the sale of the book will benefit the Historical Society.The book is available to the public for $54, including sales tax. The price is $45 for members. The book is available at the Perkins Stone Mansion at 550 Copley Road, Monday through Friday, 10am – 3pm through December 23.

          Books will also be available for sale by the Society, and Lieberth will sign books on Saturday, December 21, at the Zeber-Martell Studio at 43 Furnace Street at Northside in downtown Akron, from 5pm – 7:30pm; and on Monday, December 23, from 7:00am to 9:00am at Akron Family Restaurant, at 250 West Market St.

          The profusely illustrated 4-color hardbound publication,published by Cherbo Publishing of California,is a time capsule of Akron’s history and a chronicle of the events that have made it one of America’s leading regions for new industry. In addition to the historical narrative and photographs, the book features 40 business and institutional profiles.

          It is also available for purchase on at $59.99 plus tax and shipping.
