Akron, Ohio, January 15, 2020 All municipal offices will be closed on Monday, January 20, 2020 in observance of Martin Luther King Jr. Day.

There will be no curb service on Monday, January 20th. There will be a one-day delay of trash/recycle collections for the remainder of the week, with curb service resuming on Tuesday, January 21st and continuing through Saturday, January 25th.

"Dr. King's leadership in the Civil Rights Movement captured the attention of a nation. His appeal as a proponent of social justice remains as powerful today as ever. May we all take pause to remember his life and legacy and commit ourselves to the work of equality, inclusion, and justice in the same way that he did.” – Mayor Dan Horrigan.
