Akron, Ohio, July 19, 2022 — This week, the City of Akron presents Taste of Akron and the Akron Arts Expo. The 15th Annual Taste of Akron will take place on Thursday, July 21 from 6-10 p.m. at Hardesty Park (1615 W. Market St.).

Some of the area’s best restaurants will offer food samples during the Taste of Akron to give guests a fantastic lineup of the city’s best eats!  Patrons can enjoy samples of appetizers, entrées, and desserts, while listening to Jerri Sapronetti & Graham Murphy followed by Samantha Grace and her band.  No pre-paid tickets are needed, guests will pay food vendors directly.

The 43rd Annual Akron Arts Expo takes place Saturday, July 23 from 10 a.m.-6 p.m. and Sunday, July 24 from 10 a.m.-5 p.m. at Hardesty Park (1615 W. Market St.).

The Akron Arts Expo celebrates the creativity of over 100 juried exhibitors from across the country.  The Akron Arts Expo is a free, family-friendly weekend event and draws over 20,000 patrons to the Akron area.  It features live entertainment throughout the weekend from popular local musicians.   

The interactive Children’s Tent will feature a selfie contest hosted by the Akron Children’s museum and a community art project coordinated through Arts LIFT, a summer art apprenticeship program, offered to Akron Public Schools’ high school students by the University of Akron’s Myers School of Art.  A final celebration of Arts LIFT participants’ work will take place on the stage at the Akron Art Expo at 2:0 0pm on Sunday, July 24.  The Akron-Summit County Public Library will also be on site with an interactive art project for children and families.  Be sure to stop by the shelter and watch wood turning demonstrations throughout the event.
