The event will take place in the heart of Highland Square on West Market Street between Portage Path and Casterton Avenue from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Saturday August 31, 2013.

Square Fest is a family friendly event featuring live local entertainment on 5 stages, over 50 exhibitors including artists, community organizations, and neighborhood businesses.             “What makes Square Fest a favorite is the neighborhood and the creativity that comes from our local talent,” noted Mayor Don Plusquellic.  “Unfortunately, the Highland Square Festival has occurred sporadically through the years and has been sponsored by a variety of different groups.  However, from now on, the Highland Square residents can be assured that the City will provide the support and structure that makes their festival great every year, and the many neighborhood groups and volunteers that have signed up to be on the Highland Square Festival  committees will determine the flavor of the festival in any given year.”

Exhibitors at Square Fest are welcomed on a first come, first served basis. To become an exhibitor contact Julie Pryseski at the City of Akron Recreation Bureau, (330)375-2836 and [email protected]or download an application at
