Winterfest Fun Continues at Lock 3 with Fiesta for First Tee,Paw Puppies Weekend, and Late Skate College Night!

Akron, Ohio, February 3, 2017 – “Winterfest continues until Presidents Day, February 20th. I encourage all our families and residents to stop down and enjoy the ice rink or attend one of our great February events,” Mayor Dan Horrigan said. A few of the upcoming events include:

Fiesta for The First Tee Akron - Saturday, February 4th – 5 PM - 9 PM

          Bring the whole family down to Lock 3 for this great event benefitting The First Tee Akron! For only $10 you can enjoy an all-you-can-eat taco and dessert bar, one drink ticket, one raffle ticket, unlimited skating and putt-putt, and a silent auction. 

Paw Puppies Weekend - Saturday & Sunday, February 11th & 12th – 9:30 AM - 1:30 PM

          Want to visit with Paw Police, Paw Fireman and other four-legged friends?  Stop by Paw Puppies Weekend at Lock 3!  $12 includes entry to the Akron Children’s Museum, skate rental, putt-putt, sled hill, and choice of pancake breakfast, or hot dog or mac ‘n’ cheese lunch.  Space is limited!

Late Skate College Nite presented by WZIP 88.1 FM, the University of Akron - Saturday, February 18th – 10 PM - 2 AM

 Come enjoy the live DJ, sledding contest, dizzy golf, giveaways, and more! $10 includes skate rental, putt-putt, and sled hill, one drink ticket, hot dog and chips.   Open until 2 AM!  Must be 18 or older (ID required).

FREE Skate Rental with Restaurant or Bar Receipt - Now through February 20th

          The City of Akron and the Downtown Akron Partnership encourage visitors to have dinner and/or drinks at any of the 30 restaurants and bars in downtown Akron.  Anyone who brings a downtown restaurant or bar receipt from this month to Lock 3 will receive 1 free ice skating rental!
