Akron, Ohio, July 13, 2016 – City of Akron Recreation Bureau is participating in the Summer Food Service Program. The income guidelines for reduced-price meals by family size are available upon request.
“For some of our kids, the meals they receive at school are their primary source of nutrition,” said Mayor Horrigan. “The city is proud to provide these much needed meals during the summer.”
Children who are part of households receiving food stamps, or benefits under the Food Distribution Program on Indian Reservations, or Temporary Assistance to Needy Families are automatically eligible to receive free meals.
