CITY OF AKRON RIB, WHITE AND BLUE FESTIVAL

JUNE 29 THROUGH JULY 4

Akron, Ohio, June 29, 2018 The City of Akron’s Rib, White and Blue Festival will run June 29 through July 4 on South Main Street in downtown Akron.  This year, 11 rib vendors from across the country will compete for cash prizes and bragging rights in the “Best Of” competition. Event hours are 11 AM to 11PM and admission is free.

Eleven rib vendors from 5 states featured:

BBQ Master: Georgia

Cowboy’s BBQ: Texas

Pig Foot BBQ: Ohio

Pig Tails BBQ: Ohio

Texas Pit BBQ: Texas

Carolina Rib King: South Carolina

Big Boned BBQ: South Carolina

Porky Chicks BBQ: Arkansas

Fine Smoke BBQ: Ohio

Hog Wild BBQ: Ohio

Off the Bone BBQ: Ohio

Other Vendors

Judy’s Concessions (sausage/steak sandwich, fried cheese and bloomin’ onions)

Otterbacher Concessions (candy apples, popcorn and cotton candy)

Quaker Concessions (funnel cake, birch beer)

Pierogi Lady (pierogis and sausage)

Gift Concessions (fries, roasted corn, lemonade, ice cream)

Event locations and parking information

The Rib, White and Blue Festival is on South Main Street between University and Bowery Streets and this part of Main Street will be closed off to traffic.

Parking is FREE after 6 p.m. on Fridays and weekends at all City-owned parking decks and lots.

Handicapped parking is available at the State Street deck, which has an elevator to the Lock 3 level, or at Cascade Plaza, where handicapped parking is available by entering at Mill Street and following the ramp up to Lock 4 (parking level 2, orange). For complete details visit www.lock3live.com

Added Features

Family FunTastic Saturday, June 30, 1-4 PM: Bring the family to Lock 3 to watch the Cleveland Strikers, get your picture taken with the Cleveland Indians Slider and Akron U’s Zippy.  There will also be inflatables for children.  Rides are available by purchasing tickets at the site.

Music & Moto, July 1, noon to 6 PM:  Presented by the City of Akron and Rubber City Harley-Davidson.  Turn up the volume and get ready to celebrate two wheels (and three) in northeast Ohio!  Enter you bike in one of three categories for cash prizes.
