Merriman Road Closed Between Monmouth Drive and Treaty Line Road for Ohio Edison Improvement Work

Akron, Ohio, November 10, 2021 — The City of Akron will be closing Merriman Road between Monmouth Drive and Treaty Line Road between the hours of 8:30 am and 4:00 pm Monday through Saturday beginning today, November 10, 2021 and continuing through the beginning of December. There will also be a closure at the Riverwoods Drive/Merriman intersection during this time period.

These road closures are to ensure Ohio Edison can safely work on their overhead facilities as part of a power grid improvement on Merriman Road.

Local traffic to the residents of Merriman Road in this section will be maintained. The detour route will have drivers traveling Merriman to Monmouth, taking Portage Path to Treaty Line and returning to Merriman Road. Those traveling from Riverwoods will need to utilize the Kingswood entrance/exit during this closure.
