Address Request processing takes approximately two business days. If you have any questions, please contact this office by emailing us at [email protected] or by calling Plans & Permits at 330-375-2010 between 8:00 a.m. and 4:30 p.m.




Plans and Permits will be changing the way we charge project review and permit fees.  Starting January 6th 2020, fees will be calculated by direct cost to the City and withdrawn from the deposits.  Any unused funds from the deposit will be refunded to the submitter.  If City costs exceed the deposit amount an invoice will be sent out for the additional fees.   


New/Addition/Alteration - $3500 Deposit

Interior Alteration Only - $1500 Deposit

Curb/ Drive Apron/ Sidewalk repair/replacement - $500 Deposit


New Dwelling - $1500 Deposit

All Others - $50

Curb/ Drive Apron/ Sidewalk repair/replacement - $500 Deposit

Plans and Permits inspections are to be schedule 48 hrs prior to work begins.

Contractor registration renewal period starts June 1st and end June 30th.

The City of Akron will continue to review ALL projects within the City of Akron limits. Summit County Department of Building Standards will do a separate plan review simultaneously.

City of Akron building permits (e.g. HVAC, Electrical, Plumbing, and Structural) inspections will be performed by Summit County Department of Building Standards. Their contact information is:
