We offer a variety of art programs throughout the year, including quarterly Make ‘n Take projects and seasonal crafts.  Registration for all of art programs will take place through AkronRecDesk

Community Activities & Events
These events are sponsored/co-sponsored by the City of Akron Recreation & Parks division.  We are excited to be a part of these fun programs and events for everyone in the community to enjoy.

SUMMER CONCERT SERIES

A four-week FREE concert series performed by popular local bands.  Concerts are held on Fridays every summer from 7:00 – 9:00 PM.  Grab your lawn chair, bring a picnic and get out to enjoy the fresh air and music.

Community Meetings
Organizations host their meetings at our centers.  These meetings are open to the public at no charge and welcome new participants.  We look forward to seeing you.

ALTRUSA
An International non-profit organization that makes our local communities better through leadership, partnership, and service; as well as undertakes a variety of service, literacy, fundraising, and international projects each year.   Meets the 1st Monday of the month at 6:00 PM

HDSA—Huntington’s Disease Society of America
Support groups for individuals, their loved ones, and families impacted by Huntington’s disease.  Meets the 1st Tuesday of the month at 6:00 PM

KKI–Kappa Kappa Iota Nu Chapter
An organization that promotes the advancement of education by providing an effective network for the exchange of education and teaching practices by educators.  Meets the 2nd Tuesday of the month at 4:30pm

T.O.P.S.  Take Off Pounds Sensibly
A non-profit weight- loss support group that helps you make small, steady changes for lasting results and better health. Meets Wednesdays at 5:00 PM

With our Fitness Class Pass, you can attend multiple classes at multiple centers across the city.   Our certified instructors will help get you on track and keep you on task.  Try your first class for free.  Participants must register for a pass on RecDesk.

FITMIX
Mondays 6:00PM 
FitMix is a low impact music driven workout that mixes up movement and toning by means of resistance training and body weight. This class is for all fitness levels and all ages.  It is a great way to start your week!  It is an easy to follow high energy class that will have you moving to some of your favorite songs and walking away feeling happy and energized.

STEP-N-TONE 
Tuesdays & Thursdays 9:00AM
Step-n-Tone is a low to moderate impact class for all ages and fitness levels. This class offers a balance between movement and toning by offering modifications to make this workout your own. While using your own body weight and resistance equipment to help improve your health by utilizing muscles and bone strengthening exercises.

TONE-N-STRETCH
Thursdays 10:00AM
Tone-n-Stretch is a great addition to Step-n-Tone or any workout on its own. The toning section will use resistance, light weights and body weight moves to help shape and define your muscles. Ending the class with a full body stretch will help to improve your performance in physical activity and improve your ability to do daily activities. This is an amazing way to end your week. Bring a mat.

BEATZ
Fridays 9:00AM
This is a class of cardio drumming that brings together drumsticks, an exercise ball, and a bucket for the ball to sit in. It’s a fun, fast-paced workout that incorporates drumming and cardio to the rhythm of music. High tempo, low impact and one of the most fun workouts you’ll ever do. Using the exercise ball and floor as your drum and mixing in fun moves, cardio drumming turns keeping a rhythm into a workout leaving you smiling, sweating, and feeling amazing!

We proudly partner with local organizations & groups to allow more activities to take place in our centers.  Even though we would like to think we are experts in all things recreation, sometimes it's better to bring in a specialist. 

LINE DANCING
Instruction in line dancing, wear comfortable shoes. Meet Wednesdays at 3:00PM
MEN’S BREAKFAST
Join the men for good food and great conversation.  Cost $5 - Wednesdays at 8:00AM

Our summer camps are serious business....seriously FUN!  Whatever your summer needs are, we have options.  Whether it is our weekly theme camps or our 8-week summer long camp, check out all the possibilities.

Weekly Theme Camps
We offer weekly theme camps at Ellet including our tot camps for ages 3-5 and different camps for kids ages 6 - 10.  Our tot camps will be Monday - Thursday from 9:00 AM - 11:00 AM.  Our school age camps will run Monday - Thursday from 9:00 AM - 1:00 PM.
Registration for summer camp opens April 1.

Children learn and develop their own style and pace of skills.  Our programs are designed to facilitate the uniqueness of every child while preparing them for the next stage of growth.  We like to think of it as creating the framework of our future leaders. 

TIME for TWO’s | Age 2 

1st Friday of every month | 9:30 - 10:30 AM | September thru May

This is a structured program which offers your child to grow and play along- side other children.  During this hour-long session, toddlers are encouraged to play, learn and develop with stories, songs, and crafts.  The program invites 2-year-olds with their adult caregiver to join in on the fun while learning!

LITTLE LEARNERS | Age 3 
Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays   9:00 - 11:00AM  |  Spring and Winter sessions available
The 3’s program will provide an enriching environment through play, storytelling, crafts, and music. Your child will have fun learning about numbers, colors, shapes, letters, seasons, weather, and so much more! This class will take place from 9:00 - 11:00 AM on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays. All participants must be potty-trained before the program starts.
