               Brad Beckert is currently the Development Engineering Manager in Economic Development and has been with the City of Akron for over 25 years. He specializes in dealing with complex projects, developments, business growth, determining and working through business objectives – including supply chain analysis and best management practices.

His work includes complex projects, business attraction and developments.  Integrating goals and objectives of the administration and provide viable solutions. Economic Development professional who provides and maintains vital relationships with our partners and sister cities. Currently engaged in international job attraction to AKRON in the sectors including water technology and rubber technology.

 In Economic Development our objective is provide attraction and a soft landing place for companies and provide help for them in coming to Akron.

                He has recently worked on Goodyear’s $200 million World Headquarters, redevelopment of Bridgestone’s Akron Technical Center (500,000 square foot facility), structure leadership initiative, China rubber companies’ initiative, downtown hotel, Brownfield, State funding initiatives.

                Brad graduated from Leadership Akron, participates as a Board of Director for Habitat for Humanity, is the City Flood Plain Administrator, and City Building Official.

                He holds a civil engineering degree from The Ohio State University and is a licensed engineer and surveyor in three states. Brad resides in Akron. He has two children who attend The Ohio State University in Columbus.
