The primary function of the Employee Records Office is the maintenance and updating of all classified employee files. Currently, there are approximately 2,100 active employees. Of this number, approximately 1,800 are Permanent Full-time employees. Other functions of this office include:

  • Monitoring weekly payroll activity records for compliance with all rules, regulations, and ordinances.
  • Responding to various information requests including subpoenas, employment verifications, and unemployment compensation.
  • Distributing and processing employee evaluation forms including seasonal, temporary, probationary and permanent full-time.
  • Generating reports and queries to aid with projects in the Department of Human Resources and throughout the City of Akron.
