City of Akron Press Release
Published: 05-20-2016

Akron, Ohio, May 20, 2016The City of Akron is asking residents to help define and identify neighborhoods in Akron by visiting MyAkronNeighborhood.com.

Using the navigation tools at the top of the screen, participants can review the site directions, zoom in on the map of your own Akron neighborhood and draw boundary lines as you see fit in order to help the administration gain a comprehensive look at how Akronites define their neighborhoods. In addition to drawing boundaries, this is a great opportunity for citizens to establish new neighborhood names that may be popular with residents, but not officially recognized by the City. Residents can also leave a Story with neighborhood names and boundaries to support their opinions. The site is now live and the City will be taking submissions through June 30.

MyAkronNeighborhood.com will help city officials learn more about local views on neighborhood identities and boundaries. Information received will have no other bearing than to provide data and most importantly, to showcase neighborhood pride!
