Akron, Ohio, February 4, 2016 – Lock 3's Winter Fest in downtown Akron will host the family-friendly Fiesta For The First Tee of Akron to benefit the junior golf program this Saturday from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m.  For just $10.00 per person each participant receives an all you can eat taco and dessert bar, chips and salsa, one drink ticket, a raffle ticket and unlimited ice skating & Polar Putt-Putt golf. Reservations are not required but are preferred. Earn a special treat by making your reservation at 330-375-2877. Fiesta for the First Tee of Akron is sponsored by Acme Fresh Markets.

Lock 3's Winter Fest is open through Feb. 15 and includes a large outdoor ice skating rink, Zippy's Little Roo Rink, Reindeer Run slide, indoor Polar Putt-Putt and The Akron Children's Museum pop up location. Visit www.lock3live.com for a complete list of Winter Fest events and attractions.

About The First Tee of Akron: The First Tee of Akron is an education based organization that marries The First Tee Nine Core Values: honesty, integrity, sportsmanship, respect, confidence, responsibility, perseverance, courtesy and judgment with expert instruction in the game of golf. The First Tee's curriculum was developed by experts in the field of positive youth development through sport and is delivered by caring adults (coaches) who have been formally trained by The First Tee, including Life Skills Coaches Raymone Scott and Angela Wharton, and PGA teaching professional, Jim Beers.

At The First Tee of Akron, golf and life lessons are seamlessly incorporated into each experience. In addition to learning fundamentals of the golf swing and the game; a sample of life skills lessons include:

Interpersonal Skills: Proper introduction when meeting someone new and how to effectively communicate with others. Self- Management: Techniques for managing thoughts and emotions. Goal-Setting: Setting attainable goals to reach desired dreams. Resiliency Skills: Strategies to adapt, to manage and overcome challenges.

All kids ages 7-18 are invited to participate. Participants range in skill from beginner to advanced golfers with the program offering activities and a learning environment to accommodate all skill levels and interests in golf.
