Akron, Ohio, May 24, 2017 – After months of custom assembly, “Rosie,” Akron’s Tunnel Boring Machine, named in honor of the women who worked in Akron’s factories during WWII, is ready for her close-up. She’s preparing for the upcoming journey to Akron to dig the Ohio Canal Interceptor Tunnel (OCIT) underneath Downtown Akron. Please join Mayor Dan Horrigan and officials from Kenny/Obayashi and The Robbins Company for an exclusive tour of the machine and an opportunity to take photographs. This will be the best opportunity to view the machine up-close.

WHEN:         Thursday, May 25th  
      
              2:00 PM - 3:00 PM
  
                  Media can enter the facility starting at 1:30 PM

The Robbins Company headquarters is a closed facility. All guests will be asked to wear protective gear and sign-in upon arrival. Please see the attached map for parking instructions.
