Akron, Ohio, July 15, 2016 – City of Akron Mayor Dan Horrigan unveiled ‘King James Way’ to more than 30,000 guests to Lock 3 and Canal Park on June 23. This designation was in honor of LeBron James leading the Cleveland Cavaliers to its first national NBA title, and the city of Cleveland’s first national title in 52 years.

“We are excited to recognize our native-son and hometown hero, LeBron James in this special way,” said Mayor Horrigan.

“This is truly an exciting time for our city and an historical time for the Cleveland Cavaliers organization. Akronites are thrilled to be a part of this special moment in professional sports.”

The addresses falling between South Main Street from the intersection of East and West Market Streets, south to the intersection of East and West Exchange Streets include physical address 1 South Main through 344 South Main Street in downtown Akron. These buildings will continue to be recognized by the U.S. Postal Service at their ‘South Main Street’ locations.
