Richard began his career with the City of Akron on May 15, 1989.  As an Engineering Technician III, Richard is responsible for the inspection of construction projects and associated record keeping.  He communicates with public agencies and utility owners, as well as private property and business owners to alert them both of potential conflicts and resolves issues resulting from construction activities. 

Richard was nominated as the Employee of the Month because he is committed to the successful performance and completion of the City’s public improvement projects.  He performs his duties with the best interest of the City of Akron and its citizens in mind.  Richard is competent, and diligently learns every detail of the project plans and specifications.  Frequently, he is on site beyond standard working hours to meet with concerned property owners, or to investigate utility related issues.  Richard’s attention to detail and meticulous record keeping has saved countless hours and dollars for the City of Akron with respect to project related claims.

Richard grew up in the City of Akron and is a graduate of Akron Garfield High School and the University of Akron.  He has been married to his wife Michelle for 25 years.  Michelle has recently retired from the City of Akron /Summit County Health Department.  Richard is a member of St Paul Church and a 4th degree member of the Knights of Columbus. 

Richard enjoys volunteering at Church, Knights of Columbus, gardening, but most of all his numerous daily walks in Firestone Park with Broc, his Scottish terrier.
