Juan Jones II began working for the City of Akron; Traffic Engineering on February 8, 1999, and was promoted to his current position of Traffic Marker II on August, 13, 2001.

Juan is a dedicated employee and is an important member of the Traffic Engineering Sign and Marking Operations group. He is an employee who gets the job done in a timely matter.

Juan Coordinates and drives the paint truck for the many miles of pavement marking lines within the City. He also is responsible with the aid of the paint crew to layout and paint the famous “Blue Line” for the Akron Marathon events.  In the pavement marking off-season, Juan helps with the installation or maintenance of the approximate 60,000 signs installed within the City.

Juan has been married to his wife, Andrea for 19 years and has 5 children: Juan III, Jaquan, Javuani, Shyann and Jykeera. He is also a desert storm veteran.

Juan is the co-founder of the Blue Steel Boxing Academy located at the City of Akron’s Balch Street Fitness Center and was inducted into the Summit County Boxing Hall of Fame in 2016.
