BEVERLY "BEV" BODNAR began her career with the City of Akron
on August 18, 1970 as a Clerk Stenographer I in the Development Division of the Planning
Department. In early 1984, she was promoted to an Account Clerk I and transferred to the
Public Utilities Bureau. On December 24, 1984, she was promoted to an Account Clerk II. On
August 25, 1986, BEV was promoted to an Account Clerk III and transferred to the
Accounting Division in the Finance Department. On December 22, 1997, she attained her
present position of Accounting Technician.
BEV is a very pleasant person who has an abundance of patience. She
enjoys traveling, baking, canning, crocheting, and needlepoint on plastic canvas. She also
enjoys going to the movies, gardening and sharing the harvest with her fellow coworkers.
BEV has been called the "Banner expert" at City Hall since
Banners inception in 1997. She was instrumental in training most City employees on
Banner, working many additional hours to complete her other job duties. She has basically
been the "help desk" person for employees with questions or problems regarding
Banner. In March 1998, BEV assumed payroll processing duties to insure payrolls are
generated in a timely manner.
BEV processes all travels involving City of Akron employees,
insuring compliance with policy. She is also responsible for City car mileage deductions
and handles a majority of direct payments for the City of Akron.
BEV is a very conscientious employee always looking out for the
citizens of Akron in the prudent use of their tax dollars.
